Samuel is a passionate Educator who engages youth through after-school programming to encourage at-risk youth to tackle challenging areas of interest. Samuel uses STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), strength-based, and play education models to engage with youth, generally through an after-school program.
Samuel recently served two years as a part-time member with AmeriCorps (a government program that does Peace Corps like service within the United States). During this time, he assisted in the creation and development of safe, comfortable, and enriching spaces for youth to develop socially, emotionally, and academically. His AmeriCorps service was completed under the Multilingual Leadership Corps (MLC) which places members in schools and nonprofit organizations serving populations with English Language Learners (ELL). Through mentoring, school skills support and community engagement, members work to increase academic engagement among English Language Learners.
During his senior year in high school, Samuel co-founded the #NoBull Project, and now serves as the organization’s Executive Director/Co-Founder. The #NoBull Project is a non-profit, volunteer education organization that provides schools and communities trainings and resources on bullying.
Samuel is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Social Work at the University of Maine.
